Person dead after being shot in the head | Local

TUCSON (KVOA) – One person is dead after being shot in the head.

It happened shortly before 6 a.m. in a downtown neighborhood.

Homicide detectives searched the front yard of a home on Fifth Avenue near Beverly. Broadcastify reported:

“The caller reports a woman screaming and a male voice can also be heard.”

Neighbors who asked not to be identified told News 4 that the area used to be very peaceful, aside from the traffic, but that it has become violent recently.

They didn’t want to go on camera out of fear, but said there was a shooting six months ago, then the SWAT team raided a house and found guns and drugs inside, and now there’s been a death.

A neighbor said it was worrying.

“It’s been going on for a while, just different things happening, it’s really sad and scary. It’s so close to my home. This is a nice area. We’ve lived here for 15 years. We’ve never really had any problems with anything except this one area.”

News 4 contacted Tucson Police for information and they told us at the time that they had not been notified by the Homicide Division.
