Six people arrested for alleged involvement in drive-by shooting, woman shot in her sleep | WKRG.com

LEE COUNTY, Alabama (WRBL) – A series of drive-by shootings in Lee County and Valley resulted in the arrest of six suspects after a coordinated operation by local law enforcement. In one of the shootings, a Valley woman was shot while she was sleeping in her home.

On June 5, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to two drive-by shootings at the same residence in the 12000 block of 379 Lee Road in the Valley community. These incidents, which occurred approximately two hours apart, resulted in significant property damage and the recovery of approximately 40 shell casings, including .40 and .556 caliber ammunition.

Investigators say the violence escalated in the early morning hours of June 10, 2024, when the Valley Police Department reported another drive-by shooting in their jurisdiction. A female victim was shot and injured while sleeping in her apartment. Investigators say they recovered approximately 61 shell casings at the scene, including .40 caliber, .556 caliber, .300 Blackout and 9mm.

In response to these incidents, Lee County investigators, along with the Lee County SWAT team and officers from the Opelika and Auburn Police Departments, executed three simultaneous search warrants on June 15, 2024. The operations took place at residences on South Raintree Street, Wittel Ave., and Antioch Circle in Opelika. Investigators say the searches found eight firearms, marijuana, and an unknown amount of U.S. currency. Six suspects were arrested and face the following charges:

  • Jamarion Satterwhite (19) of Waverly, charged with two counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling and one count of shooting into an unoccupied vehicle.
  • Timothy Lamar Bell (19) of Opelika, charged with two counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling and one count of shooting at an unoccupied vehicle.
  • Demarious Tyquez Stemario Ross (19) of Opelika, charged with two counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling and shooting into an unoccupied vehicle.
  • Kymi Jaqwon Davischarged with second degree receiving stolen goods.
  • Alijah Dayshun Moss-Rowell (18) of Opelika, charged with second-degree possession of marijuana.
  • Cord Smith (37) of Opelika, arrested on several outstanding warrants from Lee County.
