Cyclist seriously injured in e-bike accident in Parma

PARMA, NY – A bicyclist was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after striking a mailbox on Manitou Road in Parma.

According to Brian Gebo of the North Greece Fire Department, an electric bicycle crashed into a mailbox near 862 Manitou Road. The man on the bicycle was taken by Monroe Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital with a head injury after being treated by first responders. Gebo says his injuries are life-threatening.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. A News10NBC crew is en route and will provide additional information as it becomes available.
