M&T Bank’s Fountain Plaza branch to be featured in film

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The M&T Bank branch in Fountain Plaza is set to appear in an upcoming feature film.

“The Panic” is an independent film set in early 1900s New York and based on the lives of J. Pierpont Morgan and Charles Barney.

About 75 crew members will be on set, including dozens of Western New Yorkers.

Filming is expected to last over four weeks, with staff remaining in town for approximately two months while filming takes place.

“It’s a great opportunity,” said Brandon Rupp, senior branch manager at M&T Fountain Plaza. “Being part of an M&T business that I manage on a daily basis is really exciting.”

The film’s producers are planning to release the project next summer.
