Galesburg man arrested in connection with fatal shooting

Chase Houlden Jr., 19, has been charged with murder in connection with a June 7 shooting that killed 18-year-old Cam’ron Glass.

A Knox County man was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Galesburg on June 7.

According to Galesburg police, 19-year-old Chase Houlden Jr. of Galesburg was arrested on Tuesday, June 18, in connection with the fatal shooting that killed 18-year-old Cam’ron Glass. A warrant for Houlden’s arrest on Monday, June 10, was previously issued for his murder.

The shooting occurred around 11 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024, in the 900 block of E. South Street. Officers found Glass inside a residence with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Houlden was also injured in the shooting and was hospitalized before being taken into custody. Houlden remains in the Knox County Jail.
