2 charged with sexually abusing a woman at the Sheldon Hotel

SHELDON, Iowa – Two men were arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman in a Sheldon hotel room.

Said Tanai, 31, of Sergeant Bluff, and Hazrat Khafir, 30, of San Antonio, Texas, were arrested Saturday and booked into the O’Brien County Jail. They are charged with second-degree sexual abuse and false imprisonment. Bail was set at $26,000 for each.

According to court documents, Tanai and Khafir threatened the woman at around 8:23 a.m. on Saturday morning, held her against her will and prevented her from leaving the hotel room, where they performed sexual acts on her without her consent.
