One dead in pedestrian accident on Route 3 in Chelmsford, Massachusetts

One person died and another was injured in a traffic accident involving a pedestrian on Route 3 in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, on Tuesday evening. The accident occurred at 10:30 p.m. near the exit to Route 129, authorities said. A video from the scene of the accident showed an SUV with a dented front and a cracked windshield. Because of the accident, the southbound lanes were closed for several hours before they were reopened to traffic. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
