Arrest in the course of the investigation into the shooting in Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (NEWS10) — The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department (CPPD) has reported an arrest has been made in connection with a shooting that occurred on June 8. 26-year-old Lorenzo Jackson faces multiple charges.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired near Main Street and North White Street around 11:44 a.m. Police later learned that a 22-year-old man had been taken to a nearby hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the arm.


Jackson was identified as a suspect during the subsequent investigation and taken into custody without incident on June 13. He is now facing the following charges:

  • Two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Criminal use of a firearm
  • First degree reckless endangerment

Jackson’s case was processed at CPPD headquarters and held pending arraignment.
