Ferry service in Galveston temporarily suspended due to flooding

Due to high water issues, the Galveston Ferry has announced a temporary suspension of service, effective immediately and until further notice.

Officials have said they will provide updates on their social media pages as the situation improves.

At 10 a.m. on Wednesday, the National Hurricane Center officially upgraded the “Potential Tropical Cyclone 1” in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico to Tropical Storm Alberto. This development is likely to bring further weather-related challenges to the region.
