Man arrested in connection with shooting on NC 12

RODANTHE, NC (WAVY) – A man was arrested Monday in connection with a shooting incident in Rodanthe.

According to authorities, on June 17 at around 12:30 p.m., officers from the Dare County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 20,000 block of NC 12 for a report of shots fired.


When officers arrived at the scene, they found that the suspect, Kyle Lowery, had locked himself in a motor home that had a bullet hole in the back.

After several attempts to make contact with Lowery, officers used pepper spray, causing Lowery to exit the RV.

Lowery was taken into custody and charged with discharging a firearm within a fenced area to induce fear, discharging a firearm within 1,000 feet of an occupied dwelling, and resisting, delaying, or obstructing a public officer.

Lowery is currently being held at the Dare County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center on $65,000 bail.
