Woman who claimed she was raped by TV sex therapist wins £200,000 in damages

However, she alleged that Mr Lousada, a former investment banker and father of two, sexually harassed and raped her. She said he claimed his penis was “like a laser beam” that could “burn away trauma”.

However, she stated that she suffered a panic attack during the incident, which consequently left her unable to communicate and “unable to give valid and informed consent.”

She stressed that she neither asked for nor consented to the use of penile penetration as a “therapeutic technique”.

In her testimony, Ms Janneh said she spoke to Mr Lousada on the phone, explained to him the cause of her panic attacks and said she wanted to know how to overcome the problem.

She said: “I absolutely did not ask him to work on penetration. I would never, ever, ever have asked him to penetrate me.”

When asked if she had implied that she wanted to use penetration as a therapy technique, Ms Janneh replied: “That is profoundly untrue. It is the exact opposite.”

Case closed by police

Ms Janneh, who now lives in Melbourne, Australia, reported the incident to the Metropolitan Police the day after the meeting, but the case was dropped in May 2018.

Mr Lousada denied the allegations, stating that he repeatedly asked Ms Janneh if she wanted to continue with the session and his form of treatment. He also claimed that she did not disclose that she was vulnerable due to her past abuse.

His lawyers said that while he accepted that penetration had occurred, the purpose “was not to have sexual intercourse but to meet the plaintiff’s desire to engage in penetration”, adding that the session was “about the release of energy”.
