Man Arrested for Murder of His Own Mother in Burbank – NBC Los Angeles

A 57-year-old woman was found dead in her Burbank home and her 25-year-old son was arrested and charged with suspicion of murder, police said Wednesday.

Officers and paramedics went to the residence in the 800 block of North Avon Street around 10 p.m. Tuesday “for an unconscious female,” Burbank police said in a statement.

“When police and paramedics arrived, they found the unconscious woman inside the home,” police said. “Officers and paramedics performed life-saving measures, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Police identified the woman as Karyn Lombardo, who lived at the residence with her husband and son.

“Ms. Lombardo’s adult son was subsequently arrested … based on the information received and evidence at the scene indicating that he caused her death during an altercation at the family home,” police said. “There are no outstanding suspects or any danger to the community.”

Kyle Lombardo was charged with murder and held on $2 million bail. According to police, he was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

No further details were released by police.

“The case will be referred to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for further review,” police said.
