1 dead and 1 injured after accident involving speeding motorcyclist who loses control and crashes on I-75: FHP

LEE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – One man was killed and another was seriously injured after both lost control of their motorcycles and crashed on Interstate 75, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to police, the motorcyclists were traveling at a high rate of speed in the southbound lanes south of mile marker 138 in Lee County at around 10:35 p.m.


Both riders lost control and fell off their bikes. According to police, the riders landed on a grass verge several hundred meters south of the accident site.

A 21-year-old man from Cape Coral died at the scene of the accident. An 18-year-old man, also from Cape Coral, was seriously injured and taken to a hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
