Here are the 911 calls the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) responded to from June 10-16, 2024:

  • Injuries caused by fireworks: (Auburn) On Monday, June 10, at 4:13 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a fireworks stand where an adult male was injured with a severe hand injury. When firefighters arrived, the patient was missing several fingers, had shrapnel injuries to his chest, abdomen and legs, and a burn to his right foot. The patient was stabilized at the scene by VRFA firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics, then transported via Airlift Northwest to Harborview Medical Center.
  • Cry for help: (Auburn) On Tuesday, June 11, at 1:37 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult female who was experiencing a slight decline in consciousness. When firefighters arrived, they found the woman ill but in stable condition. They concluded that she would require further medical attention at a hospital. The woman was transported to a local hospital by private ambulance.
  • Two accidents involving two vehicles: (Auburn) On Thursday, June 13, at 9:05 a.m., VRFA firefighters responded to a report of a two-vehicle car crash. Shortly after, another crash occurred in the same area involving two different vehicles. Both collisions occurred within 100 feet of each other, and a total of four adults were involved. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured, and all involved declined transport to the hospital for further evaluation.
  • Cry for help: (Auburn) On Friday, June 14, at 6:45 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to an adult male who was unable to exit a bus due to injuries sustained from a previous assault. Firefighters treated him at the scene and transported him to Auburn Medical Center for further treatment.
  • Dangerous tree: (Auburn) On Saturday, June 15th, at 2:43 p.m., VRFA Fire Department responded to a residence where a very large tree had developed a crack. Firefighters arrived and determined that the tree was a hazard to the neighbor’s home, so they evacuated the neighbor’s home. Just as the elderly neighbor exited her home through the front, a large piece of the tree broke off and struck the back of her home. Firefighters advised residents to leave the evacuation area until the tree was removed by a professional tree service.
  • Cry for help: (Auburn) On Sunday, June 16, at 3:50 p.m., VRFA firefighters responded to the scene of an adult female who had fallen and was unable to get up. The fall caused a 3-inch laceration to the patient’s elbow, which was bandaged by firefighters. The patient was transported by private ambulance to a local hospital for further treatment.
