New York man died in motorcycle accident on I-93 in New Hampshire over the weekend

A New York man was killed in a crash involving multiple motorcycles Saturday. At approximately 4:41 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, state troopers at Troop F Barracks were notified of a crash on southbound Interstate 93 in Campton. When troopers arrived, they found a group of three injured motorcyclists and three motorcycles lying on their sides. A preliminary investigation revealed that a gust of wind caused one of the motorcyclists to lose control and crash. Two other motorcyclists attempted evasive maneuvers to avoid striking that motorcyclist and put their motorcycles down to avoid a collision. The operator of the first motorcycle to go off the road was taken to Concord Hospital with serious injuries and a second motorcyclist was taken to Speare Hospital with minor injuries. A third motorcyclist, identified as 41-year-old Anthony Caton of Round Lake, New York, was taken to Speare Hospital and then flown by helicopter to Dartmouth Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.Squad F was assisted by members of Squad D, Campton Police Department, Campton-Thornton Fire Rescue, Waterville Valley Fire Department and Plymouth Fire-Rescue. The scene was cleared within 3 hours Saturday.The accident remains under investigation. On Saturday, June 15, at approximately 4:41 p.m., state troopers from Troop F Barracks were notified of an accident on Interstate 93 southbound in Campton.

When the police arrived, they found a group of three injured motorcyclists and three motorcycles lying on their sides.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a gust of wind caused one of the motorcyclists to lose control and crash. Two other motorcyclists attempted to swerve to avoid the motorcyclist and put their motorcycles down to avoid a collision.

The rider of the first motorcycle to leave the road was taken to Concord Hospital with serious injuries and a second motorcyclist was taken to Speare Hospital with minor injuries.

A third motorcyclist, identified as 41-year-old Anthony Caton of Round Lake, New York, was taken to Speare Hospital and then flown by helicopter to Dartmouth Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Squad F was assisted by members of Squad D, Campton Police Department, Campton-Thornton Fire Rescue, Waterville Valley Fire Department and Plymouth Fire-Rescue. The scene was cleared within 3 hours on Saturday.
