Police search for “armed and dangerous” person after two dead in shooting in southern Utah

WASHINGTON, Washington County — The corner of Indian Knolls Drive and Chinook Drive was cordoned off Tuesday evening while police investigated a fatal shooting in Washington, Washington County. The suspected gunman is still at large, police said.

At about 7:03 p.m., the Washington Police Department received reports of shots fired at 1039 E. Chinook Dr., police Lt. Kory Klotz told St. George News at the scene. When officers arrived, they entered the home because the door was open.

“They found two dead victims – both adults, a woman and a man,” he said. “When they cleared the rest of the house, they found evidence of murder.”

There was no suspect on scene, but through their investigation, police were able to identify Collin Bailey as a suspect. Bailey is transitioning into a woman and calls herself Mia Bailey, Klotz said.

She is 28 years old, 5’10” tall and weighs 130 pounds. She has hazel eyes and brown hair. She wears wigs, so her hair could be long or short. Klotz said Bailey was last seen leaving the area in a mustard-colored 2014 Kia ​​Soul with a Utah license plate reading “U069GF.”
