Buffalo Council sets factory levy for 2024-2025 – Sheridan Media

At its Tuesday meeting, the Buffalo City Council set the factory levy for the 2024-25 fiscal year.

Mayor Shane Schrader read the resolution.

Property taxes collected by the county are distributed to city and town governments through levies requested by factories.

According to City Clerk Julie Silbernagel, the city receives about $450,000 a year from the eight plants, but it varies and she budgets accordingly.

The state of Wyoming allows municipal governments to finance the operations of up to eight plants.

The majority of funding the city receives for its annual operations comes from sales taxes.
