17-year-old arrested in fatal shooting of Newport News teen in 2022 – The Virginian-Pilot

Newport News police arrested a 17-year-old on Tuesday in connection with the 2022 shooting death of a 15-year-old boy.

According to a press release, the teenager was arrested on second-degree murder and weapons charges in connection with the October 14, 2022 shooting.

Officers were called to the 800 block of Walden Pond Court for a shooting. When officers arrived, they found the boy suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he died shortly thereafter.

Because of their ages, police did not release the names of the shooter and the victim.
