Apple Valley man killed in two-car crash on Highway 18 and Central Road in Apple Valley – VVNG.com

APPLE VALLEY, California (VVNG.com) — On Saturday, June 15, 2024, at approximately 7:02 p.m., a fatal traffic accident occurred at the intersection of State Highway 18 and Central Road in Apple Valley, resulting in the death of a local resident.

Through investigation, officers determined that it was an orange Ford Fiesta driven by a 28-year-old. Mark Listerwas traveling north on Central Road approaching State Highway 18.

A black Audi SQ5, driven by a 27-year-old Konstantin Markrygianniswas traveling eastbound in lane one on State Highway 18 approaching Central Road.

Sheriff’s officials said the Audi SQ5 collided sideways with the Ford Fiesta at the intersection. The Fiesta rolled several times before coming to a stop in a dirt parking lot at the northeast corner of the intersection.

Tragically, Markell Lister sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where he later died. Konstanti Markrygiannis also sustained injuries and received medical treatment at a local hospital.

The investigation is being conducted by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT).

During the investigation, the westbound lanes of State Highway 18 were closed for approximately 45 minutes to collect evidence and interview witnesses.
