HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A crash involving a truck in the westbound lanes of I-610’s North Loop has forced officials to close all main lanes in both directions.

An investigation is underway into the crash, which appears to involve a large truck and a passenger vehicle. The concrete barrier in the center of the highway was also damaged.

All traffic is forced off the road and backups are considerable. Drivers should expect long delays and are advised to avoid the area.

According to a call to Houston police, the accident happened around 3:10 p.m. Houston fire officials say the patients were transported from the scene, but no details on the number of casualties or the severity of the injuries were immediately available.
