FRAUD ALERT: Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office warns residents of phone scams | KTVE

Ouachita Parish, La. (KTVE/KARD) – On Tuesday, June 18, 2024, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office announced that it received calls today from individuals identifying themselves as OPSO officers.

According to officials, the person will tell the intended victim about warrants for failure to pay fines or fail to appear for jury duty.

They use the names of real officials and spoof numbers to make it seem like they are calling from OPSO. OPSO warns residents not to give out personal information over the phone if they did not make the call themselves.

OPSO will never issue citation for unpaid fines or warrants for failure to appear.
