Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office Issues Fraud Alert | WNTZ-TV FOX 48

VERNON PARISH, La. (WNTZ) – The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of a scam that has been circulating throughout the community.

Individuals required to register with VPSO will be contacted by telephone and the caller will pose as VPSO detectives.


The The caller then indicates that the registrant is not complying with their registration requirements. The caller then points out that the registered person must pay a fine over the phone in order to prevent an arrest warrant being issued against them.

The caller identified himself as Detective Graham, Detective Williamson, Lt. Bonnett and Detective O’Neil identified.

The calls are made from different phone numbers.

Anyone who needs to register with VPSO or is contacted by these individuals can confirm their registration status by contacting VPSO at 337-238-1311.
