FORECAST DISCUSSION:

Sweltering heat continues in Central Ohio. A heat advisory remains in effect through Friday evening. Daytime highs will be 35 degrees, while the heat index will be above 38 degrees nearly every day this week.

Today there is a chance of sudden thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. The latest update from the Storm Prediction Center puts parts of central Ohio under a slight risk (1/5) for severe weather this afternoon. Some storms may produce damaging winds and large hail. Air temperatures will reach the mid-90s with a heat index above 100 degrees.

There will still be a chance of small thunderstorms overnight, but for the most part it will be rain-free. Temperatures will only drop to the lows of 24°C, our lowest overnight temperature. Humidity will be high enough that it will still feel very muggy tonight.

There’s a chance of a sudden storm or two tomorrow, but the weather will hold and isn’t expected to stop anytime soon. Temperatures will climb back up to the mid-90s with a heat index just above 100 degrees. That will be a repeat nearly every day this work week. Stay cool in Central Ohio.
