A car accident causes road closures and downed power lines in Utah

SYRACUSE, Utah (ABC4) – A single-vehicle accident in Syracuse on Wednesday led to road closures, power outages and the driver being hospitalized, according to a Social media post by the Syracuse Police Department.

Police said the closure applies from 500 W and 2700 S to Bluff Ridge and 2400 S.

In addition, police warned that residents, including those near Bluff Ridge Elementary, could experience power outages due to the crash. Rocky Mountain Power was notified of outages Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, the incident occurred around 12:40 p.m. when a 44-year-old woman – the sole occupant of the vehicle – crashed her car. Police said the cause of the crash was still under investigation.

Officials said Rocky Mountain Power and other agencies were on scene to address the situation.
