15 years for raping his brother’s wife

HARARE Regional Judge Letwin Rwodzi on Tuesday sentenced a 29-year-old man from Chinamhora region of Mashonaland East province to an effective prison term of 15 years for raping his brother’s wife.

According to the circumstances, on May 19, 2024, the victim was alone in her property while her husband had gone to the local business center when she heard a knock at the gate and ran out to investigate.

She then invited him into the house, but the perpetrator locked the door from the inside and raped her at knifepoint.

After the crime, he stormed out of the house after ordering the plaintiff not to tell anyone about her ordeal.

A short time later, the plaintiff’s husband came home and she told him about her ordeal.

The couple then filed a complaint with the police, which led to the arrest of the perpetrator.
