The Newport Police Department has provided the following arrest and incident logs from 7:00 a.m. June 17, 2024, to 7:00 a.m. June 18, 2024.

Monday, June 17

At 10:40 a.m., Myiesha Stedford, 33, of Newport, Rhode Island, was arrested by Officer Lubin for disturbing the peace and simple assault.

At 11:20 a.m., Officer Casale arrested 34-year-old Steven Botelho of Newport, Rhode Island. He was charged with domestic disturbance, vandalism/intentional damage to property, and simple assault.

At 5:45 p.m., Shane Peter, 40, of Newport, Rhode Island, was cited by Officer Arel for possession of alcohol, drinking, public opening of beverages in public.

At 8:15 p.m., Joseph Heffernan, age 41, of Newport, Rhode Island, was taken into custody by Officer Boghigian on a warrant charge in Superior Court.

Tuesday, June 18

No arrests were made.
