Due to an accident, a traffic sign falls onto Interstate 35

The motorway was reopened after the incident early Tuesday morning

Crews worked through the night to clear an incident that closed Interstate 35 at Johnson Drive. Merriam police said a traffic sign fell across the interstate following an accident. Officers closed the road so a crane could remove the sign from the road. Crews reopened all lanes of I-35 at around 6:15 a.m.

MERRIAM, Kansas —

Emergency crews worked through the night to clear an incident that resulted in the closure of Interstate 35 at Johnson Drive.

Merriam police said a traffic sign across the highway fell after an accident.

Officials closed the road so a crane could remove the sign from the road.

At around 6:15 a.m., all lanes of I-35 were reopened.
