LMPD: 1 dead and 1 injured in shooting at boat ramp in Greenwood

The shooting occurred early Tuesday morning around 3 a.m.

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky – The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) is investigating a shooting west of the Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood that left one man dead and another injured.

Officers from LMPD’s First Division responded to a shooting at the Greenwood Boat Ramp around 3 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Police found a man with a gunshot wound at the boat ramp. Officers attempted to help him, and EMS later transported the victim to the University of Louisville Hospital.

The man died shortly after arriving at the hospital, the LMPD said. His identity has not yet been released.

Authorities said another man was hospitalized with a gunshot wound from the same shooting. The second man received medical treatment for his injuries and is expected to survive.

A spokesman for the LMPD said it is currently unknown to what extent a relationship exists between the two men.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is conducting the investigation, but there are currently no suspects.
