Police in Flushing, Queens, have released new surveillance video of the suspect who allegedly raped a 13-year-old girl

FLUSHING (WABC) — The manhunt for the suspect who raped a 13-year-old girl in a Queens park last week is intensifying.

Newly released images provide a better insight into the man police were looking for.

A day after news broke last Thursday that a sex offender robbed two teenagers, held them at knifepoint and sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl in Kissena Park, police used this sketch in the hopes that someone would recognize the suspect.

On Monday evening, the police released a video that provided an important clue in the ongoing search for the still-fugitive person.

This is the person New Yorkers should look out for as police have spotted him on a bicycle.

Last week, two teenagers’ play turned into a nightmare when a man approached the two 13-year-olds with a machete-like knife and chased them into the woods, according to police.

He then snatched their cell phones, tied their hands together and abused the young girl.

The days-long search continues as police search every inch of the park and put all their resources into locating the suspect, who is still at large.

Investigators found the shoelace used to tie the children’s hands together, as well as a water bottle left behind by the rapist.

The suspect has a conspicuous tattoo on his chest, which police say depicts a wild boar with red eyes.

The police are asking the public to get involved and identify the man. And the public has already taken action.

“We have decided to form a tenants’ association. We need to do a neighbourhood watch and we are forming a tenants’ association to protect our children,” said one resident.

These new developments come after the NYPD offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
