Buffalo Council OK Building on City Shooting Range – Sheridan Media

The Buffalo City Council voted in favor of the Johnson County 4-H/Buffalo Trap & Skeet Club constructing an additional building for their shooting sports on land owned by the City of Buffalo at the Archery Range. is from the city.

Jim Dawson, representing 4-H, addressed the council on behalf of the program and the Buffalo Trap & Skeet Club (BTSC), requesting council approval for the building.

A number of council concerns were addressed during discussions at the meeting, including the lease with BTSC; concerns about heat and who would be responsible for the costs; plumbing for building toilets; and building permits and site preparation.

The building, estimated to cost just over $220,000, will be funded entirely by money acquired by 4-H and BTSC, at no cost to the town other than the town’s in-kind site preparation at approximately 24 000 and the waiver of building permits by the city. the city at around $1,600 according to information provided by Dawson.

After discussing council’s concerns, Mayor Shane Schrader requested a motion to approve.

The council voted 3-1 to approve, with Councilwoman Myra Camino voting against.
