SAS connects Copenhagen to Atlanta with new daily service

Norwegian Airlines (SAS) has expanded its SAS flights across the North American network with an all-new daily non-stop service between Copenhagen, Denmark and Atlanta, Georgia.

This meets the ever-increasing demand for transatlantic travel, providing a convenient and convenient connection between Scandinavia and the dynamic heart of the southeastern United States.

Inauguration of the Copenhagen-Atlanta service

On June 17, 2024, SAS launched daily non-stop flights between Copenhagen and Atlanta. This new itinerary presents a gateway to a city bursting with cultural experiences, rich history and a diverse culinary scene.

Passengers arriving in Atlanta will find themselves at the world’s busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

This major hub provides seamless connections for SAS passengers beyond Atlanta, through its role as a central hub for SkyTeam alliance member Delta Air Lines.

Through this partnership, SAS customers have access to an extensive network exceeding 1,060 destinations served by SkyTeam member airlines.

For even greater travel flexibility, SAS has already started integrating Delta flights into its reservation systems.

Business and leisure travel

Copenhagen-Atlanta travelers

The new Copenhagen-Atlanta route appeals to a wide range of travelers. “SAS is excited to expand our offering to business and leisure travelers,” said SAS Sales Director, Paul Verhagen.

Leisure travelers can immerse themselves in Atlanta’s unique charm and easily connect to various destinations across the United States, while business travelers will find Atlanta a premier destination.

As a major hub, Atlanta is home to many Fortune 500 companies, making it a lucrative and essential location for business.

SAS and Delta collaboration

This new route represents a strategic evolution that strengthens the existing collaboration between Norwegian Airlines and Delta.

“Working closely with SAS will further strengthen Delta’s presence in Northern Europe, providing our customers with improved access to key destinations,” says Alain Bellemare, Executive Vice President and President of Delta – International.

“This bilateral agreement is the cornerstone of our long-term strategy to connect Delta customers globally. SAS’s new non-stop service between Copenhagen and Atlanta, a major European hub for SAS. This provides a solid basis for even closer future cooperation between our airlines.

Norwegian Airlines’ Copenhagen-Atlanta route will be operated with a choice of Airbus A330 and A350 aircraft. Both types of aircraft offer a variety of travel classes to meet various travel preferences.

Passengers can choose between SAS Business, SAS Plus and SAS Go, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable journey on SAS flights across the Atlantic.
