Bartender charged with sexual assault in Toronto

Toronto police have arrested and charged a bartender after he sexually assaulted a customer at a downtown Toronto hotel bar.

The victim was staying at the hotel when they went to the bar around 6 p.m. on October 14.

The defendant, a bartender, served the victim a drink and said, “This is my special drink,” police said.

After drinking the drink, the victim lost consciousness and was sexually assaulted by the bartender, police said.

Manish Patil, 35, of Waterloo, was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexual assault. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

Police believe there may be more victims and that the suspect may have worked at other hotels in the city center.
