Man shot on southwest Miami-Dade turnpike – NBC 6 South Florida

Police are investigating a shooting late Monday that left a man in critical condition in southwest Miami-Dade.

According to preliminary information from authorities, it appears that the shooter drove alongside the victim’s vehicle shortly before midnight on the Florida Turnpike northbound at the corner of SW 257th Terrace and fired shots at it.

Both a woman and a man were in the attacked vehicle. The man was shot and taken to hospital in critical condition. The woman was not injured, police said.

Authorities say the shooter may have known someone in the car.

Information about the suspect was not immediately available.

The investigation is ongoing.

A police presence was visible a few blocks from the scene. Authorities have not confirmed whether this police operation is connected to the shooting on the Turnpike.
