Harley rider killed after accident in the Bronx

A motorcyclist died in the Bronx on Wednesday evening after he was hit by a semi-trailer truck that then drove away and another vehicle.

Police said that at approximately 9:06 p.m. on June 5, 35-year-old Frederick Hall of the Bronx was riding his 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound on the Cross Bronx Expressway between the right and center lanes at the 3rd Avenue exit when the driver of an unidentified semi-truck struck the motorcycle.

Hall then lost control of the two-wheeler and fell under another vehicle – a 2025 Volvo semi-trailer truck that was traveling in the right lane, police said.

As the horrific scene continued, the biker was crushed by the rear wheels of the Volvo and suffered serious injuries. The driver of the unknown semi-trailer fled the scene of the accident, police said. The driver of the Volvo remained at the scene of the accident and was uninjured.

Officers from the 48th Precinct arrived after receiving a 911 call about the collision. EMS transported Hall to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made yet. The NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad is conducting the investigation.
