SAPD: Motorcyclist dies in collision with light pole

According to witnesses, he lost control of his motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

SAN ANTONIO – A motorcyclist was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a light pole in the city’s northwest side late Tuesday night, police said.

San Antonio Police were called around 9:40 a.m. to Steubing Parkway at Katma Lane, near De Zavala Road, for a report of a motorcycle accident.

According to witnesses, he lost control of his bike before hitting the pole and was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved and no other injuries were reported.

According to SAPD, there have been eight fatal motorcycle accidents so far this year. In 2023, SAPD recorded a total of 27 fatal motorcycle accidents.
