Coroner found dead in doorway in Dayton

According to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center, Dayton police responded to the 1700 block of West Stewart Street in DeSoto Bass around 10 p.m. after a man was found in a doorway.

“Upon arrival, officers found a 44-year-old man who was pronounced dead at the scene,” Lt. Steven Bauer of the Dayton Police Department.

The incident was initially reported as a shooting, but it was not clear whether shots had been confirmed, police said.
