‘I feel attacked’ ‘I feel betrayed’ Tacoma business owner’s truck stolen twice in days – KIRO 7 News Seattle

ROY, Wash. – A Tacoma business owner’s box truck was stolen twice in just a few days.

Ron Baker says his truck was stolen from his own property last Friday evening and police found the truck on a property in Roy on Monday. Baker received permission to leave the truck at a local gas station, and when he went to pick it up Tuesday morning, it was gone.

“That feeling you don’t want to have. “It’s gone again,” Baker said. “I’m waiting to wake up. Like it was a bad dream.”

“May was my opening season. I organized the truck,” Baker said.

He says it still doesn’t feel real, it happened again. Baker planned to get into the gutter business and his start date was in May.

Baker says when officers found the truck Monday, all of the tools inside were gone and it was in pieces inside.

“They ranged from catalytic converters to all my tools to the ladders to the stereo,” Baker said.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man who was in the truck when it was found. A spokesman says it’s not as strange as it sounds when the same vehicle is stolen multiple times a week.

“And someone could have their car stolen multiple nights in a row. A box truck is probably new, but we always recommend people have the car towed that day,” Sgt. Darren Moss Jr. said.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Roy Police Department, are investigating this theft. Although this has been an extremely difficult situation for Baker and his family, he says the support from friends, family and the community has been tremendous.

“I was just assured that it is not the end of the world, but a new day,” Baker said.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help Baker purchase new tools and equipment.
