Missing AEW star raises hopes of return after suspension – TJR Wrestling

An AEW star who has been absent since being suspended by the company has hinted at his return as part of his quest for championship gold.

Adam Copeland has announced that he will have to undergo surgery on a broken tibia following his bout against Malakai Black at Double Or Nothing, meaning he will be out of action for some time. AEW’s EVPs The Young Bucks took matters into their own hands regarding Copeland’s title at Dynamite in Los Angeles and stripped him of the title.

Their true intentions then became clear when they vowed to hand the title over to Jack Perry – the only member of the Elite without a championship.

However, Christopher Daniels – who had previously been fired by the Young Bucks – returned with the new title of Interim EVP and delivered a message from Tony Khan that the next TNT Champion will be crowned in a ladder match at Forbidden Door and that Perry will have to earn the gold like everyone else if he wants it. Qualifiers will be held for the ladder match and Daniels noted that no interference or seconds will be allowed in these matches.

A star previously suspended from AEW followed this announcement closely.

Sammy Guevara announces AEW return

Taking social mediaSammy Guevara posted a clip of his TNT Championship ladder match with Cody Rhodes along with a photo of himself as TNT Champion, hinting that he might be interested in qualifying for the Forbidden Door title match.

Sammy Guevara has not competed in AEW since the February 24 edition of Collision, where he lost to Powerhouse Hobbs. Guevara was suspended from the company after a previous match against Jeff Hardy went awry and Hardy sustained an injury. It is believed that Guevara’s suspension has since expired, so he is eligible to return to the company in that regard.

The first AEW star has already qualified for the Forbidden Door Ladder Match after winning a bout that will air on the May 31 edition of Rampage.
