Man charged after fatal side-by-side crash in Wayne County

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Illinois State Police have arrested a McLeansboro man on charges of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter following a fatal crash involving a side-by-side in Wayne County.

According to a press release from the Illinois State Police, 35-year-old Johnny Green was driving a Polaris Razor side-by-side on Country Road 70 North near County Road 425 East on May 24. While traveling westbound, the side-by-side left the south curb and overturned. The passenger was ejected from the vehicle during the rollover and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Green is being held in the Wayne County Jail.
