Suspect arrested in connection with stabbing in Manassas

MANASSAS, VA—Police arrested 23-year-old Danaisa Xiane Matthews after a stabbing attack on May 24 at a residence in the 8500 block of Charnwood Ct. in Manassas. Matthews was arrested on May 27 and is now facing charges of first-degree assault.

The incident occurred when police were called to the scene at around 6:11 p.m. on May 24. There they found a 22-year-old man who had been stabbed in the leg. Investigations revealed that the victim and Matthews, who knew each other, had a verbal argument that escalated and led to the stabbing.

Matthews, who lives at 9801 Shallow Creek Loop in Manassas, fled the scene after the altercation but was later tracked down and arrested by authorities. The victim received medical treatment at a local hospital, where police were first alerted to the incident.

Details regarding Matthews’ court date and bail status are currently pending as the case continues to progress.
