London man allegedly raped a woman in Banbury, court says

Sam Lyne, of Gleneagle Road, London, appeared before Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (May 28) charged with rape.

The alleged incident occurred in Banbury on February 15 last year. The woman’s name cannot be disclosed for legal reasons.

Lyne was also charged with possession of a Class B drug, namely a quantity of cannabis, which is alleged to have occurred on February 18 last year.

The 30-year-old must now appear at Oxford Crown Court on June 27 at 10 a.m. for a plea hearing and trial preparation.

A trial date could be set at this hearing.
