Woman killed in house fire in Marrero

MARRERO, La. (WGNO) — The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Jefferson Parish 8th Fire Protection District are investigating a fire that killed a woman on Tuesday, May 7, in Marrero.

The JPSO reported that the Jefferson Parish 8th Fire District responded to a fire at a home in the 3000 block of Sorbonne Drive around 3:15 p.m

JPSO officials said after the fire was extinguished, an unresponsive woman was found inside the home. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

No further information was released.
