Buffalo Bills WR Khalil Shakir praises teammate’s ‘feel for the game’

If Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid was passed over in any way as a rookie, he didn’t show it.

Buffalo’s 2023 first-round pick set a franchise rookie record by hauling in 73 receptions for 673 yards and two touchdowns in 16 regular-season appearances. He also scored touchdowns in both of the Bills’ playoff games.

Bills receiver Khalil Shakir, a 2022 fifth-round pick, recognizes the early impact Kincaid had on the offense.

“He’s unbelievable. His feel for the game, even in the running game, just blocking,” Shakir said after Tuesday’s Phase 3 OTA practice. “Sometimes the transition can be a little tricky from college to the NFL, and he stepped right into the fire. He’s definitely a true professional.”

Shakir’s comments suggest Kincaid chose the right business approach in the NFL.

“Great guy, funny guy,” Shakir said. “Likes to have fun, but also knows when to flip the switch and turn it on when the time is right.”

Kincaid and Shakir will likely see an increase in targets this season, given that Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis are no longer on board.
