Shooting in Goldsboro | Man dead after shooting on East Elm Street in Goldsboro

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WTVD) – A man who was shot in Goldsboro on Saturday has succumbed to his injuries, police said.

At approximately 6:15 a.m., Goldsboro Police responded to a 911 call about a man who had been shot in the 300 block of East Elm Street.

Officials said they found 56-year-old Tyrone Lee Hicklin with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was taken to UNC Health Wayne and then transferred to ECU Health in Greenville for further treatment.

Hicklin succumbed to his injuries at around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday.

This is an ongoing investigation.
