10-year-old Buffalo Bills fan spreads kindness

ROCHESTER, NY — “Choose Love” has been the Buffalo Bills’ motto for two years; it’s written on players’ helmets, merchandise, and the field the game is played on. Today, a 10-year-old fan is spreading his passion for spreading kindness to the big leagues.

“They’re my favorite team,” Logan Bittner said. “5 (years old), that’s when I went to my first game.”

What do you want to know

  • Logan Bittner, 10, has been a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan since he was 5 years old.
  • He and his family made and brought at least a thousand friendship bracelets to games to spread kindness to fans and players.
  • Bittner recently sent a welcome gift to 33rd overall NFL pick Keon Coleman to welcome him to Buffalo.
  • Receiver wore Bittner’s friendship bracelets during his NFLPA rookie photoshoot

Bittner knows a lot about his favorite NFL team.

“One of their best players in the 90s was Steve Christie,” he said. “The Bills are named after Buffalo Bill Cody. They won a championship before the Super Bowl era.

He started bringing Bills-themed friendship bracelets to preseason games last year. He offers them free on homemade signs for players and other supporters. Each bracelet is a little different. His favorite thing is to choose phrases to add like “Go Bills,” “Allen and Diggs BFFs,” or even a line from a show he and Josh Allen both enjoy: “Just a little “sticious.”

“Giving to players to spread the love,” he explained why he started his project.

Stefon Diggs was the first player to accept one of his little gifts, and Tre’Davious White was also a fan of the gesture. However, his favorite player has always been Khalil Shakir, who went out of his way to take a selfie with the young Bills mobster.

Last year, he sent a letter and bracelets to Josh Allen. This year, he sent them as a welcome gift to NFL 33rd overall pick Keon Coleman.

“It’s Coleman’s number. Number zero,” Bittner showed.

Along with a few friendship bracelets, he sent Coleman a letter with recommendations for the best chocolate chip cookies and pizza in Buffalo. He says Imperial is the best pizza around and Wegmans Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies are the best.

“I never thought it was going to get to him. And I am very happy that this is the case,” he exclaimed.

Coleman’s gift was well received. The Bills’ new wide receiver recently wore Bitter’s bracelets during his NFLPA rookie photo shoot. The photos went viral with Bitter’s personalized letter on X.

“Special and happy and nice – and excited,” Bittner explained how he felt when he saw Coleman’s new accessories.

Bittner accompanies his parents, Krystle and Colin Bittner, to the games because his family has seasonal seats. Her parents help her from time to time, but mostly just to tie the bracelets once they are finished. They say they’ve probably made at least 1,000 bracelets so far.

Both parents say they couldn’t be more proud of their son for actively sharing his kindness toward strangers.

“It’s been amazing to see you sit back, focus and spread kindness the way you want, hasn’t it Logie?” It was nice to see your confidence grow. Mom thinks it was amazing for your confidence, especially with the letter. He’s having a little trouble with his handwriting, so his letter is really getting around,” his mother said. “Logan is a very, very nice guy. It makes me very, very proud to see him spreading kindness and love and to see how many people, how many people have embraced that as well.

Little Bittner is just happy that his message is getting out there.

“Thank you for wearing my bracelet and thank you for your attention,” he smiled. “Come on Bills. Win the Super Bowl.
