Bensalem police issue 5,200 red light warnings in one month – NBC10 Philadelphia

Red light tickets are already piling up in a city in Pennsylvania.

Last month, Bensalem Township launched an automatic red light enforcement program at the intersections of Street Road at Knights Road and Route 1 at Old Lincoln Highway.

Bensalem police said officers issued more than 5,200 warnings to vehicle owners for red light violations in the first 30 days.

“The high number of violations highlights the need for enforcement to ensure the safety of all drivers in our community,” police said.

The 60-day grace period ends Friday, May 31, and starting June 1, any vehicle that fails to stop at a red light in these locations will face a $100 fine, police said.
