Malaysian influencer Jasmine Yong revealed that her two-year-old son Enzo – who she often shared in posts on Instagram – died after drowning in a hotel pool while she and her husband were sleeping in the room next door.

In a series of Instagram posts, Jasmine shared that she, her husband Lim Kong Wang and Enzo checked into a hotel to celebrate Mother’s Day on Saturday, May 11.

“He cuddled up next to us like always and drank milk before falling asleep,” she wrote in a caption translated into English.

The couple then took a nap and when she woke up, Enzo was no longer in the room.

“We also took a nap. When I woke up, I realized he was not next to me,” she wrote, adding that she saw that “the indoor pool door, which was originally locked, had been opened.”

When she went outside, she found Enzo unresponsive in the swimming pool.

Although they tried to perform CPR, “there was no response,” she wrote, adding, “Due to poor reception at the hotel, we were also unable to call for help.”

“We hurriedly ran to the hotel lobby with the baby in our arms and asked the hotel staff to call an ambulance and provide first aid until the ambulance arrived,” she continued. “Half an hour after we were rushed to the hospital for rescue, the baby finally got a heartbeat again but was still in a coma.”

Ultimately, Jasmine wrote, Enzo’s “heartbeat” stopped due to insufficient oxygen supply.

“Our baby Enzo has become a happy little angel👼🏻,” she wrote in a post. “There is no more pain and distress.”

Jasmine first shared the news of Enzo’s accident in an Instagram post on Thursday, May 16. In the post, she revealed that her son was “in the intensive care unit.”

“We need everyone’s strength and blessings to pray that Enzo wakes up quickly and comes home,” she wrote at the time, without revealing the circumstances of the accident.

In addition to her statement about the accident that led to Enzo’s death, Jasmine also shared a series of images from what appears to be a memorial for the toddler, including a video in which people can be seen releasing balloons into the sky and some images showing colorful drawings that Enzo had made.

“Thank you for all the prayers and blessings,” she added in her caption, which she ended with a request that no one “exaggerate, take things out of context, or make things out of nothing.”
