Person found dead in Aloha house fire

A 911 caller reported seeing smoke coming from the window of a home near Southwest Zabaco Terrace and Southwest Ravenwood Street.

ALOHA, Ore. — Firefighters found one person dead while responding to a house fire in Washington County Sunday afternoon.

According to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, around noon, a 911 caller reported seeing smoke coming from the window of a home near Southwest Zabaco Terrace and Southwest Ravenwood Street in Aloha. When firefighters arrived, they saw smoke coming from a second-story window. Firefighters located the fire in a bedroom, searched the home and found one person dead inside. This person had not been identified.

The fire department was able to prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the house.

Crews had a difficult time moving inside the home because there were “a large number of personal items inside the home,” Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue said.

Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.

This is a developing story and may be updated as more information becomes available.
