Cambridge police are searching for a person who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in a public restroom

Cambridge police are searching for a suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in a public restroom last week.

The incident occurred in the area of ​​Cambridgepark Drive at around 9.18pm on Friday.

“It’s absolutely scary, it’s really sad and I hope they catch the perpetrator,” said Kyle Dutch of Cambridge.

When Dutch went home on Friday evening, he saw the large police presence.

“I honestly think I saw five or six cars, I also saw an ambulance,” Dutch said.

According to police, the victim told officers that the suspect was masked and attacked her with a knife in his hand. Investigators are processing a crime scene in the restroom of a commercial building where the alleged attack occurred, police said.

“My girlfriend goes for a walk and runs around here and we ride our bikes together. It’s scary when she’s alone. I want this person arrested as quickly as possible,” Dutch said.

Cambridge police said they will deploy additional patrols to the area as they continue to search for the suspect.

Massachusetts State Police are assisting in the investigation. The Middlesex Crown Prosecution Service has been informed of the incident.
