Teens killed, two critically, in car crash in Glenview

A teenager has died and two other people are in critical condition after a car crash late Sunday night in northern suburban Glenview, police said.

Marko Niketic, 17, was driving one of the two vehicles involved in the crash in the 1200 block of East Lake Avenue around 11 p.m., Glenview police and the Cook County coroner’s office said. Niketic, of Glenview, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other people were taken to nearby hospitals after the accident. Two passengers were both in critical condition and the driver of the other vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

East Lake Avenue remained closed from Wagner Road to Waukegan Road as of 9 a.m.

Glenview police and a major collision task force are investigating the incident.
